It all began in my Grandmother’s Basement.
After uncovering boxes and boxes of old photographs, thousands of slides and film reels, I knew I had a big project ahead of me. I had never seen any of these, so many memories. I wanted to share them with our family and I wanted my grandmother to remember all of these moments again.
I spent weeks sorting through and digitizing our family archive, I found so much joy in rediscovering these bits of family history. I was lucky to have time to go on this adventure during the lockdown but I wondered what other people might do without that time. There are no simple and cost effective personal digitizing services out there, they are all offer digitization of huge institutional libraries or are just too expensive.
This is something I love to do, and for me, there is no job too small. From the hundreds of photos I scanned for my own family there wasn’t a single one that wasn’t worth the time to save forever.
